Celebrating the Helix Lab Fellows, Spring 2024

This June Helix Lab once again celebrated the graduation of the Helix Lab Fellows, Spring 2024, at the biannual Gallery Walk held on June 6. The event showcased the innovative work of the Fellows, featuring presentations from Nikolaj Hansen from Novonesis A/S, Serafim Bakalis from University of Copenhagen, Fellow Swapnil Mane, Fellow Isabell Raahauge Eriksen, and Henning Jørgensen from Novo Nordisk Fonden. Each shared their unique experiences and perspectives on collaborating with Helix Lab, highlighting the dynamic and supportive environment Helix Lab facilitates.
Following the presentations, the event transitioned into a diploma ceremony where each Fellow received their Helix Lab Diploma. This ceremony not only marked the culmination of their intensive research and hard work but also marked their transition to professional careers, now with new knowledge and a wide network in Kalundborg's industry.

The ceremony was followed by a poster session held within the Helix Lab premises. Here, each Fellow had the opportunity to present their thesis work in greater detail on individual posters. Attendees, including industry professionals, academic peers, and local community members, were invited to engage directly with the Fellows. This session provided a dynamic platform for the Fellows to discuss their findings and methodologies, receive feedback, and network with potential collaborators and employers.
The poster session showcased a wide array of innovative projects, illustrating the diverse research interests and areas of expertise within Kalundborg's industries. This segment of the event not only highlighted the technical and scientific findings of the Fellows but also emphasized Helix Lab’s role in facilitation an environment where academic research directly contributes to real-world applications.

Following the Gallery Walk, the Fellows and the Helix Lab team gathered for a celebratory dinner at Gisseløre Restaurant. This was a moment to reflect on the journeys these young professionals have embarked on during their time at Helix Lab and to celebrate their upcoming thesis defenses.
Five of this semester’s twelve Fellows have already successfully defended their thesis and graduated. Congratulations to Martin Egebjerg Olesen, Isabell Raahauge Eriksen, Math Johansen, Silvia Mitrea, and David Andresen, who have completed their studies at the University of Copenhagen and Aalborg University.

It's particularly gratifying to note that many of the Fellows from this semester have chosen to begin their professional journeys in Kalundborg. Their decision to stay contributes significantly to the vibrancy and growth of our local community and industry. Each semester, as our Fellows move into the professional world, they carry with them the ecperience and culture of Helix Lab, ready to make a positive impact
A big thank you to all the university and industry supervisors who have played a crucial role in mentoring these young talents. Their dedication and support are vital in integrating these young professionals into the workforce and helping them realize the potential and opportunities in Kalundborg.
As we bid farewell to the Spring 2024 Fellows, we look forward to follow them on their path forward. Helix Lab is excited to see how their contributions will drive progress in our community and beyond.
