Dyrehøj Vingaard

Winemaking in Denmark

Denmark, and especially Røsnæs in the Kalundborg municipality, is becoming an attractive place to grow quality grapes. The Danish climate and wine industry are now at the same level as the English wine industry was 15 years ago. Today, England produces 15 million bottles a year. Danish consumers are increasingly looking for locally produced products, and there is a growing interest in Danish wine.

Dyrehøj Vingaard is Denmark’s largest winery with sales of approximately 50,000 bottles a year. Our brand is local and built around wine tourism.

We have a solid foundation for expansion:

  • 13 ha planted with vines (circa 50.000 vines with 50% in the ideal age of 8-10 years old).
  • Production capacity to handle 120-150 tons of grapes annually (90,000-120,000 bottles)
  • 2.000m2 production- and warehouse capacity, of which only 50% is currently utilized
  • Distillery with capacity to produce 5-7 x more spirits annually
  • 40,000 visitors annually – among the top-5 most visited places in Destination Sjælland
