Helix Lab has launched the new semester with its biannual Matchmaking event, bringing together universities and local industry to explore collaboration opportunities and student projects in the Kalundborg area.

Representatives from 12 local industry partners gave pitches at the event, presenting potential projects and engaging in dialogue with university supervisors. The session provides a platform for matching students with relevant, real-world projects, followed by in-depth conversations and discussions about future collaborations.

The Matchmaking event is held twice a year and serves as both an introduction to Helix Lab and the many opportunities available in Kalundborg for companies, universities and students alike.

“The Matchmaking event continues to be an excellent opportunity for supervisors from universities and companies to meet, and we’re always eager to welcome new participants, which we have done with some success in the past year,” says Kresten Kromphardt, Scientific Consultant at Helix Lab.

New Fellows welcomed to Kalundborg
In a separate event, Helix Lab also welcomed a new group of Fellows at the start of the semester. Three students are continuing from the fall semester, while nine new Fellows have moved into Kalundborg Collegium.

The Fellows were introduced to Helix Lab through presentations, heard of previous experiences from an Alumni, and learned about living in Kalundborg from a representative of the municipality’s settlement team. The day concluded with pizza and games with Alumni and ended with a quiz night at the local beer bar SKØL.

The spring semester will include new activities for the Fellows, such as a ceramics course, while the popular wakeboarding session will return.

“This is the ninth time we welcome a new group of Helix Lab Fellows to Kalundborg, but it never feels repetitive. Each semester we refine and renew the program with new initiatives, partnerships and experiences in the city – all with the purpose of helping Fellows feel at home, build meaningful connections, and truly understand the opportunities that exist here,” Nanna Blume, Community Manager at Helix Lab states.
