The Helix Lab PhD program aims to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry. By introducing specialized competencies into the laboratories, the program ensures continuity in research projects at Helix Lab and enhances supervision and mentoring for Helix Lab Fellows. This initiative is a significant step towards expanding the scientific community in Kalundborg.
Currently in its pilot phase, the program is designed to lay the groundwork for a robust, long-term initiative. The PhD program's goal is to foster a community and network of PhD students who collaborate directly with industries in Kalundborg. This gives them hands-on experience and an insight into real world problems. The pilot program will serve as a steppingstone towards establishing a full-fledged Helix Lab PhD program, with open calls for additional PhD students, as well as industry-funded PhDs.
By offering PhD projects at Helix Lab in collaboration with industry and universities, the academic education pipeline in Kalundborg is fully established.
