Helix Lab’s Story Unfolded in a New Publication
This year Helix Lab has worked to provide a comprehensive overview of its vision, mission, ambitions, and accomplishments. This effort has culminated in the publication Inside Helix Lab – From Vision to Reality, which, through words and images, chronicles how a field in eastern Kalundborg was transformed into a vibrant center for education and research. An initiative that enriches the region’s rapid development while collaborating with the existing University College Absalon.
The publication explores Helix Lab’s development through facts, statistics, photographs, and interviews with the people who have shaped and been part of it. Readers will gain insight into why Helix Lab was founded close to industrial production, the creation of a research and learning environment in Kalundborg, its Fellowship program, career opportunities, and—most importantly—the collaborations between industry and universities that are central to Helix Lab’s success.
A Testament to Achievements
Inside Helix Lab – From Vision to Reality features interviews with current and former Fellows, who share their perspectives on community, career development, and what it's like to live and work in Kalundborg. Industry and university supervisors highlight the benefits of joint innovation, while PhD students discuss why they chose to do their dissertations as part of Helix Lab.
“We initially felt that the story and outcomes of Helix Lab deserved to be unfolded in more than a brochure, which is why we set out to create Inside Helix Lab – From Vision to Reality. We hope this publication stands as a testament to what has been achieved so far, and as an inspiration to those who will be part of Helix Lab and the development of Campus Kalundborg in the future,” Anette Birck, director of Helix Lab says.
