Rats on the Pill
At the University of Copenhagen a team of researchers have used yeast cells to grow triptolide, a non-toxic substance that makes rats infertile. This makes it possible to limit the rat population significantly – in a humane and sustainable way.
Speaker: Johan Andersen-Ranberg is an Assistant Professor at UCPH and founder of TriptoBio. In 2024 Johan won the University of Copenhagen Innovation Price for his research on how to grow triptolide from yeast cells.
