A Gathering of Minds and Talents

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Helix Lab Director Anette Birck, followed by an icebreaker session that set the tone for open dialogue and reconnection. The day was orchestrated with a comprehensive program that balanced professional development with social engagement, emphasizing the ongoing impact of Helix Lab on individual careers and the bioindustry.

Insightful Workshops & Presentations

On the first day attendees participated in the workshop titled "Working and Living in Kalundborg," where alumni Maria Piza and Jacob Lund Jensen presented their journey from having no knowledge of Kalundborg to now living and thriving in the city. The session focused on the transitions from academic settings to real-world applications in the biotech industries in Kalundborg.

Afterwards the program entailed engaging talks from industry leaders Jonas Vestergaard of Novonesis and Theis Sommer of Unibio, who highlighted the latest developments and challenges in the Kalundborg industry.

Building a Stronger Community

The Helix Lab Alumni Event 2024 was successful in strengthening the ties between current and alumni Fellows across different cohorts. It not only provided a platform for professional growth but also reinvigorated the community that Helix Lab is building. As we continue to support the next generation of specialists, innovators and leaders in the biotech sector, events like these are invaluable in creating a vibrant, connected, and dynamic alumni network.

Helix Lab will keep on bridging the gap between academia and industry, thereby enhancing the development of Kalundborg as the Biotech City. The success of this year's alumni event once again shows the importance of bringing people together.

We already look forward to doing it all over again in 2025 with even more Fellows where we will continue nurturing a strong and supportive Helix Lab community!
